Ann Laurier Scholarship Fund

DAC has presented Dufferin County students with the Ann Laurier Scholarship for almost 30 years. This award is given to Grade 12 students going on to study the arts at a post secondary program, including but not limited to Colleges and Universities across Canada.

The Dufferin Arts Council’s scholarship program recognizes students of Dufferin County who will be pursuing post-secondary education in the arts. The program consists of three (3) one-time scholarships worth $3000.00 each. One scholarship will be awarded to each of the arts streams—visual, performing (including music) or literary.

  • Visual: Painting, Sculpture, Photography, Textiles, Graphic Design, Print Making, Architecture, Film Development
  • Literary: Creative Writing, English Literature, Books & Media, Journalism, Advertising, Media Studies, Professional Writing, Screen Writing
  • Performing: Drama, Music, Composition, Production & Design, Comedy, Theatre, Film Development, Dance

It has been an absolute pleasure for DAC to support the young, aspiring artists within Dufferin County. Supporting our youth in furthering their arts education is one of the cornerstones in the DAC foundation.

The program consists of three (3) one-time scholarships worth $3000.00 each.

The applicant must be a resident of Dufferin County, be graduating in the current year, be accepted to a recognized post-secondary institution.

Completed applications must include the following information.

  • Completed application form including an essay of no more than 500 words.
  • Transcripts from grades 12
  • Letter of reference preferably from a current teacher in the relevant discipline
  • Proof of admission to post-secondary institution of the project
  • Portfolio appropriate to the discipline

Completed applications must be received by the deadline of June 30th.

Completed applications will be reviewed by the selection committee. Successful applicants will be notified by the final Friday in August. In early September cheques will be deposited to the students’ accounts at the post-secondary institutions in which they are enrolled.
