As a costumer, Cleveland’s Broadway debut was in the Tony Award winning musical Come From Away. He worked on The Lion King World Tour, in Shanghai, and the premier of Disney’s Aladdin in the West End and in Sydney. He last appeared in The Inheritance Part 1 in Toronto with Canadian Stage, and worked as a dresser for Alvin and the Chipmunks: LIVE, Disney and Cameron Macintosh’s Mary Poppins’s, Rogers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella, and Sam Mendes’ Cabaret. Andrew worked for Opéra Atelier for four years working on productions at the Elgin Theatre and l’Opéra Royal de Versailles, and had a part with working on the opening ceremonies of the 2015 PanAm Games. With Mirvish he worked on Kinky Boots and Mrs. Henderson Presents and has designed for The Toronto Fringe Festival, Talk is Free Theatre, Hart House Theatre, The Royal Conservatory, Theatre Orangeville, and Theatre Orangeville’s Drama, and Musical Young Company.
Andrew Cleveland is an Anishinaabe-descent costume designer and costume maker born in present-day City of Mississauga. He has a B.F.A. in theatre from York University, and graduated with specialized honours in 2013.
