Peter Dušek is a Canadian artist and gallerist based in Hockley Valley, Ontario. He runs the Peter Dušek Gallery in Creemore. His work uses photography to explore minimalist and abstract approaches to landscape, water, snow, and rural scenes, often using techniques such as long exposures and spatial compression to distill our world down to their quiet essence.
He has exhibited across Canada and the United States, including a sold-out solo show at Toronto’s Abbozzo Gallery, and his work is in corporate and private collections around the world. Peter runs his own gallery in Creemore. One of his artworks hangs at the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario’s Suite at Queen’s Park, Toronto.
He approaches photography with a reductionist eye shaped by years in the Canadian landscape. He focuses on what remains when excess is stripped away, with a motto of “as little as possible, as much as necessary”, to find the perfect balance between too much and too little.
